Anonymoushad to read a very dense essay about tropological narratives in historiography and may i just say: i think there are easy ways to impart that language is fake but also it constructs all that we construct, and language comes first before “fact”, and the idea of narrative being inherent to history-telling. but im not mr hayden white so what do i know i guess. wait i just googled him and apparently he sued the LAPD for literally spying on UCLA class discussions which gave california legal precedent for limits on cops surveilling political activity. thats epic. ok i feel calmer now. i still wish he had been more direct and used less jargon, at least in this essay i have to give a presentation on
