- OaL: 33.7 in/85.5 cm
Hungary, 16th century, housed at the Hungarian National Musuem.
A Horseman’s Hammer, Germany, second half of the XVIth century.
The head is pre-Bessemer iron, scavenged from a now destroyed house built way before 1808, with high carbon steel welded in at the beak - where it matters.
The rest is mild steel, hand-forged and hand-worked through and through, and the grip is brass wire over a wooden core.
Not made after a specific original piece, but several models provided inspiration for it.
It is 537 mm long, 136 mm wide and it weighs 1084 grams. Point of balance is 11 cm in front of the handguard.
A beutifully etched and gilt Warhammer with a velvet wrapped grip,
- OaL: 27.4 in/69.5 cm
- Weight: 3.3 lbs/1.51 kg
North Italy, ca. 1510, housed at the Wallace Collection.
