One of many questions dividing the Western left is whether there is one or multiple empires in the world today, which is stupid because we are not in a material position where the answer to this question matters.
If there is one empire, it is the United States of America, and our job is to dismantle it at all costs.
If there are multiple empires, the one I’ve lived in my entire life, and therefore have some small understanding of and ability to influence, is the United States of America, and therefore my job is to dismantle it at all costs and trust in my comrades in the other empires to deal appropriately with theirs.
It really is as simple as that.
Or to put the latter case another way:
He said this at a time when there unquestionably were multiple empires/aspiring empires in the world and his country was literally at war with like three of them, BTW.
This blog is mostly so I can vent my feelings and share my interests. Other than that, I am nothing special.
