america is a funny country because the people here are, overall, pretty politically cogent when it comes to being aware of what’s happening around them. people know that the govt wiretaps your phones, people know that the govt treats immigrants as a political pawn, people know that the govt works to further corporate interests, people know that govt officials are paid off. etc. its just common sense. but somehow people here will turn around every election cycle, fully knowing all that, and be like well if you vote for the right color party all of that stuff will change. it has not happened yet in the twenty or thirty or forty or seventy years that i have been alive. but it will this time
