Death to Fascism
“If fascism could be defeated in debate, I assure you that it would never have happened, neither in Germany, nor in Italy, nor anywhere else.” – Frank Frison, Holocaust survivor

On this day, 15 October 2007, armed police in Aotearoa/New Zealand carried out coordinated raids and roadblocks across the country using anti-terrorist legislation to arrest activists. The 17 people arrested included environmentalists and Indigenous Māori activists. No terrorism related charges followed, nor did any other serious charges.
Conversely, in a separate incident some years prior, police were unable to find any suspects for a right-wing terrorist bombing of a union office, despite it taking place opposite their headquarters. https://www.facebook.com/workingclasshistory/photos/a.296224173896073/2109797609205378/?type=3
