Imagine if American politicians were to actually stop giving shit away to corporate America and did shit for regular non-millionaire, non-billionaire citizens.
On this day, 30 October 1919, residents of the Pennsylvania Working Home for Blind Men demanded higher wages for their work, threatening to strike the following week if they weren’t granted. The visually impaired men made brooms, whisks, carpets and other goods, and their home had increased the rent with no increase in their wages. They formed a union and affiliated with the American Federation of Labor. The boss told the New York Times that the men “like the rest of the world, have got strike fever”.
It is unclear if the strike went ahead or how the dispute was resolved so if you have any information please email us on info@workingclasshistory.com https://www.facebook.com/workingclasshistory/photos/a.296224173896073/2122703774581428/?type=3
This blog is mostly so I can vent my feelings and share my interests. Other than that, I am nothing special.
If you don't like Left Wing political thought and philosophy, all things related to horror, the supernatural, the grotesque, guns or the strange, then get the fuck out. I just warned you.
