Let’s have a fun history lesson with food. Though ‘Akhenaten closed all the temples and banned the worship of other gods’ appears (he only closed the temples to Amun and worship of other gods continued), as does the 'Tutankhamun is deformed, disabled and sick due to inbreeding’ narrative, which was debunked by Egyptologists at the time (the guy saying it had no access to the body and just created a whole host of things wrong with him that aren’t actually apparent on the body) but remained in the popular consciousness.
