Color me “excited” for this new Peacock series, “Crystal Lake” from showrunner Bryan Fuller. While it’s being referred to as a “prequel” to “Friday the 13th”, Fuller has stated its both a prequel and a remake, much in the same way his series “Hannibal” was set prior to “Red Dragon” but also covered those events in the novel as well. “Hannibal” is, in my mind, one of the greatest horror series ever produced and I can’t wait to see Fuller’s take on the “Friday the 13th” mythos.
“There’s a legend around here. A killer buried, but not dead. A curse on Crystal Lake, a death curse. Jason Voorhees curse. They say he died as a boy, but he keeps coming back. Few have seen him and lived. Some have even tried to stop him. No one can. People forget he’s down there, waiting.”
