The governments of Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, and Bolivia released a joint statement supporting Peru’s democratically elected president, Pedro Castillo, saying he is the victim of “anti-democratic harassment.”

Castillo was overthrown in a coup d’etat on Dec. 7, led by the infamously corrupt right-wing opposition that controls Peru’s unicameral congress, which has an approval rating of between 7% and 11%.

A master piece by Blue Öyster Cult.

Used in the soundtrack of the movie Heavy Metal, it was paired with the B-17 sequence.

The inherent meaning of the song isn’t exactly deep, as it refers to the character Elric of Melniboné, written by Michael Moorcock, who also helped pen the song. This is the second song pertaining to the character, the first being Black Blade.

However, one could interpret the lyrics to mean a number of things, PTSD and relating it to the effects of the Vietnam War being the more apparent.

All in all, it’s an easy song to listen to, using a slightly minimalist approach to the guitar and drums, with the vocals being the focus.
