Alligator (1980 dir. Lewis Teague)

Of all the creature features that arose in the wake of ‘Jaws’, Joe Dante’s ‘Piranha’ and Lewis Teague’s ‘Alligator’ are my favorites. Alligator is about (as you may have guessed) a killer alligator. Once a pet flushed down the toilet in the city, the titular ‘Alligator’ mutates and breaks through the streets to wreak havoc on anyone and everyone. ‘Alligator’ is part animal horror, part giant monster flick, and all B-movie fun.
