“Death sits here, perched like a vulture waiting for you to forget him. Always remember the feel of Death, Alex - and he’ll never be able to take you by surprise.”

entitledrichpeople:

It’s worse than this piece let’s on, the government is almost assuredly directly murdering Black activists.  There has been a series of shootings of Ferguson activists, many whose bodies were burned, that have been covered up and declared suicides even when that’s a nonsensical explanation.

US courts in the past decade have openly declared the US has a legal right to assassinate US citizens without trial and without evidence they are engaging in any active plans as well as massive amounts of assassinations of other people (a note on this case, the US government also murdered an eight year old child who was a US citizen and part of the same family, after assassinating her father and brother, as well as killing 6 other children in the same raid).

While this is an attempt, as the article points out, to try and legally justify arrests, incarceration, denial of civil rights, etc. through arrests, it’s also an attempt to legal overt assassinations as well as mass murder by rightwing white supremacist groups that are technically not part of the government but usually have close ties and have large overlapping memberships.  The FBI was one in five Klan members in the 70s and there’s little reason to suspect that has changed, for example, the Klan leader responsible for Charlottesville march that led to the murder of an IWW member had a history of FBI ties and was a known FBI informant.
