Urðarköttur, or the Ghoul Cat, is a monstrous feline from Icelandic folklore. Resembling an ordinary cat, it will bury itself in the ground, preferably in a graveyard. It grows in the earth, and when it emerges, it is said to be virtually unstoppable.

Some say that the Urðarköttur will stay underground for three years, and when it surfaces, will head to the hills, attacking sheep and humans alike. Some believe its very gaze is lethal, while others say its only vulnerability is its own reflection.
