On this day, 25 July 1867, Karl Marx wrote the preface to the first German edition of his masterwork, Capital (Das Kapital). It remains the most decisive and insightful critique of the capitalist system ever written. While the first three chapters of volume 1 are a bit tricky, it gets much easier after that and we would highly recommend everyone read it at some point.
