What’s a Mexican restaurant without guacamole? What’s a hipster cafe without avocado toast? Some restaurateurs may be contemplating these questions this summer as the price of avocados has spiked to almost double the price a year ago.
In Los Angeles’ Boyle Heights neighborhood, El Tepeyac Cafe uses loads of avocados for its delicious homemade guacamole. In fact, it goes through about 50 boxes of the fruit every week. Operations manager Bernadette Thom says the restaurant has no choice but to pay more.
“I mean, we’re in a Mexican restaurant, and everything pretty much on our plate requires guacamole,” she says. “So to completely be out of it would not work.”
There are A LOT of crabs on Christmas Island, man.
They used to cross the road, probably, no definitely, without looking left and right. And they got squished.
Environmentalists had a hell of a job, keeping them in their lane. Traffic would have to be blocked for the duration.
But now, they have a lovely bridge, and no one has to ask: Why did the Christmas Island Crab cross the road, if they’re just gonna get squished?
Answer: They want to hit the beach. Because that’s where they like to have sex. And because the mummy crabs like to throw their eggs into the ocean after they’ve spawned them in the burrows that the daddy crab so kindly digs on the beach.
Look at them scurrying over their bridge, the smell of the ocean in their noses, the thought of copulation driving them on…
Whew! Finally, made it to the beach…now The Sex can begin!
Mission accomplished… And a few weeks later after a float in the ocean…
Back come the ankle biters…to the rainforest where they live.

Killer Nun (also known as Deadly Habits) will be released on Blu-ray on October 15 via Arrow Video. Daryl Joyce designed the new cover art; the original artwork will be on the reverse side.
Based on true events, the 1979 Italian nunsploitation film was one of the “Video Nasty” titles banned (though not prosecuted) in the UK. It’s directed by Giulio Berruti and stars Anita Ekberg, Joe Dallesandro, Alida Valli, and Lou Castel.
Killer Nun has been newly restored in 2K from the original 35mm camera negative. Both the English and Italian audio and credits are included. It features uncompressed mono 1.0 LPCM audio with newly-translated English subtitles.
This blog is mostly so I can vent my feelings and share my interests. Other than that, I am nothing special.
If you don't like Left Wing political thought and philosophy, all things related to horror, the supernatural, the grotesque, guns or the strange, then get the fuck out. I just warned you.
