The use of money during the 1936 anarchist revolution in Spain, as told by the people who lived it. From the amazing documentary Living Utopia: Anarchism in Spain. [video]
Located somewhere on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt is this abandoned outdoor cinema.
It was built by Frenchman Diynn Eadel in the late 1990s, but suffered a power cut on what was supposed to be its premiere night. No one knows what went wrong, but some say the local authorities weren’t thrilled by the prospect of a movie theater in the middle of the desert and were the ones responsible for the generator’s malfunction.
The first movie it was supposed to screen was Jurassic Park, but the cinema never got to screen a single movie. The cinema has been closed off to tourist by the Egyptian government.
You can still see what remains of the cinema on Google Maps.
LOL i can tell they got this from my blog or somewhere else that got it from abandonedography because I photoshopped a sand person in the top right of the picture. It’s come full circle.
Pledge Night opens with the sound of a toilet flushing; an apt metaphor for the 86 minutes that follow. Filmed in 1988 but not released until its VHS debut in 1990, the movie marries two cinematic staples of the 1980s: teen sex comedies and slasher movies. Director Paul Ziller’s (Back in Action, Bloodfist IV: Die Trying) feature debut hits all the trope of both subgenres but lacks many of the characteristics that make either one appealing.
Set during Hell Week, the film follows a group of hopeful pledges being initiated into Phi Epsilon Nu. As if undergoing hazing, pranks, and humiliation isn’t enough, Sid - an acid-burned hippie from Hell who was killed in the same house during a hazing ritual gone wrong two decades prior - inexplicably returns (via the toilet, no less) and begins killing off the fraternity brothers. It culminates in a laughably cheesy ending.
This blog is mostly so I can vent my feelings and share my interests. Other than that, I am nothing special.
If you don't like Left Wing political thought and philosophy, all things related to horror, the supernatural, the grotesque, guns or the strange, then get the fuck out. I just warned you.
