I also want to make it abundantly clear this is why people say “fuck cops” and why “Blue Lives Matter” is bullshit. It may only be a “handful” of corrupt cops (which is also bullshit) but it’s the entire institution behind them that enables them and refuses to take any form of accountability. Every single cop is complicit. Every single one.
Cops are the worst of the worst. I work for a security department and some of the officers are also cops for the county, and some of the things I’ve heard them say are atrocious. One guy refused to take a title IX case of harassment because the guy doing the harassing is a cop buddy of his. Another time one of the guys was making fun of a girl who was a desk worker for calling in because an older man kept coming to her desk and was making her uncomfortable. These guys are so far removed from general compassion and empathy that they don’t care about anyone but their own, and will use whatever modicum of power they have to protect their own interests instead of serving the community

These priests, deacons, monks and lay people now teach middle-school math. They counsel survivors of sexual assault. They work as nurses and volunteer at nonprofits aimed at helping at-risk kids. They live next to playgrounds and day care centers. They foster and care for children.
This blog is mostly so I can vent my feelings and share my interests. Other than that, I am nothing special.
