On this day, 26 October 1977, 8000 workers at the Swadeshi Cotton Mills in Kanpur, India, surrounded their factory, locking the bosses inside after their wages had not been paid in several weeks. The unions did not help so workers beat up the union leaders, they then placed gas cylinders and acid bottles on the roof of the factory and threatened to start blowing things up. After 54 hours of siege, the workers’ back wages were paid. HALLOWEEN is among the oldest traditions in the world as it touches on an essential element of the human condition: the relationship between the living and the dead. Every recorded civilization has created some form of ritual observance focused on what happens to people when they die, where they go, and how the living should best honor those who have passed or respond to the dead who seem unwilling or unable to move on.
Countries around the world today celebrate Halloween in one form or another, from Mexico’s Day of the Dead to China’s Tomb Sweeping Day. The modern-day observance of Halloween in countries such as the United States and Canada – where this tradition is most popular – share in this ancient tradition even though some aspects of the holiday are relatively recent developments, and can be traced back to the Celtic festival of Samhain.
Deep in and old park (Park W Maciejowej) in Poland, there is an abandoned and decaying mausoleum. If you wander inside, you’ll stumble upon a rather terrifying sculpture of a demon that was left behind after the filming of a horror movie (Redwood).
The building is open, so everyone can visit this impressive creature. The sculpture is often vandalized but is often repaired by local people who love this addition to the landmark.
If you’re curious about the movie, I actually found it on youtube (link below).
This blog is mostly so I can vent my feelings and share my interests. Other than that, I am nothing special.
If you don't like Left Wing political thought and philosophy, all things related to horror, the supernatural, the grotesque, guns or the strange, then get the fuck out. I just warned you.
