mfw you’re a strong empowered socialist country but you need the money and supplies from capitalist countries to survive
venezuela has the detriment of decades of oil field development resulting in “dutch disease”, where the ease of importing goods results in local production being unable to compete and closing up. some work to block that by the chavez and maduro governments resulted in an agricultural sector that is still mostly able to feed the population despite a large-scale collapse in imports, but unfortunately most medicines used in venezuela aren’t produced there, given the weight of centuries of capitalist development vs the fact that election a “socialist” government isn’t flipping a switch that suddenly makes all production domestic (in fact, comparatively, there’s less government-run production in venezuela than in capitalist norway). one would imagine how well you would fare if you were suddenly blocked from buying anything from your local grocery store or pharmacy.
>trusted all of their market on one single commodity
if America went to war with China or Saudi Arabia and no longer had access to their cheap goods or oil, private industries in America would form overnight. This is literally what happened when Saudi Arabia raised the price of oil and America created their own industries overnight. It’s the fault of socialist countries that they can’t adapt to a changing market.
Also comparing 2 random different countries doesn’t mean shit especially when Bernie Sander has been calling the Nordic Countries socialist for fucking decades. So they’re rich thriving capitalist countries when it’s convenient but they’re socialist countries that prove socialism works when it’s convenient. Leftists can’t seem to pick one.
>trusted
oh so you’re saying that the venezuelan government should have taken control of its economy in the 1940s? wouldn’t that have resulted in an american-backed coup?
america didn’t create those industries overnight lol, fracking tech existed for decades. what happened was a bunch of suckers were pulled into investing in it. fracking is failing as we speak because most frackers overleveraged and can’t dump their assets at anything near what they paid for them. millions are going to be out of a job, but you’re going to beat off to it as an act of genius because you have no desires except cruelty lol.
What the fuck is wrong with you people? They’re dead! They’re fuckin’ dead!
