In case you missed it since it hasn’t gotten much attention in western media, the largest general strike in history at an estimated 250 million people occurred in India yesterday - Jan 8th 2020 - in protest against the Modi government.
Just a slight correction. 250 million workers didn’t go on strike. Unions that represent 250 million people called for protests. Article estimates hundreds of thousands to several million workers went on strike. Still quite impressive, but it’s not 250 million. That’d be insane.
