On this day, 18 January 1977, workers and poor people across Egypt rose up against the ending of state subsidies for basic goods. Despite the government killing hundreds of people, strikes, demonstrations and riots forced the government to back down in just two days.

So apparently the first couple to get married now that the colonial anti-LGBT restrictions on marriage were struck down in Northern Ireland did so in front of the “Free Derry” mural, so like, can we all collectively bask in how visibly apparent the connections between LGBT and anti-colonial liberations thanks.
