This is an interesting analysis of the development of his thought: https://libcom.org/library/transgression-malcom-x https://www.facebook.com/workingclasshistory/photos/a.296224173896073/1355822641269549/?type=3

Iran is holding national elections Friday, as voters choose members of parliament from a list of candidates winnowed down to feature hardliners and conservatives. Midterm elections are also being held for the Assembly of Experts, the clerics who have the power to select the country’s supreme leader.

More than 15,000 would-be candidates had sought to win a four-year term in parliament, officially called the Islamic Consultative Assembly, or Majlis. But the powerful Guardian Council, which vets all candidates, has disqualified thousands of people from running. Many of those who were culled were reformist or moderate candidates. Dozens of them are current members of parliament who are now barred from seeking reelection.

That left more than 7,000 candidates standing for election to Iran’s 290-seat parliament.

Broke Horror Fan presents Color Out of Space on limited edition, fully functional VHS! Our latest tape goes on sale next Tuesday, February 25, at 12pm EST/9am PST at WitterEntertainment.com.

Based on the classic H. P. Lovecraft short story, the 2019 horror film is directed by Richard Stanley (Hardware). Nicolas Cage stars with Joely Richardson, Madeleine Arthur, Brendan Meyer, Julian Hilliard, Elliot Knight, Josh C. Waller, Q'orianka Kilcher, and Tommy Chong.

It arrives on VHS in a black clamshell case with two variants to choose from: the standard edition featuring the theatrical artwork, with 100 stocked, and a variant with the home video art, limited to 50. Each tape includes extras, to be announced.

Anna Freud Part I

Anna Freud is not the most well-known name in the Freud family. Intentional or not, there is a heavy shadow hanging over her story. Sigmund Freud is a well-known man, but he is not well-loved in the queer community. His homophobic and transphobic ideas taint his already largely disproven theories. Worship him or despise him, he is remembered and still discussed in most psychology circles. The same cannot be said for his youngest daughter. One of the founders of child psychology and an open lesbian, Anna Freud was not always in line with her father’s teachings. (Read full article)

Enjoy The Extra Day Off! More Bosses Give 4-Day Workweek A Try -

npr:

Companies around the world are embracing what might seem like a radical idea: a four-day workweek.

The concept is gaining ground in places as varied as New Zealand and Russia, and it’s making inroads among some American companies. Employers are seeing surprising benefits, including higher sales and profits.

The idea of a four-day workweek might sound crazy, especially in America, where the number of hours worked has been climbing and where cellphones and email remind us of our jobs 24/7.
