Squirrel glider (Petaurus norfolcensis)
The squirrel glider is a nocturnal gliding possum. This species’ home range extends from Bordertown near the South Australian/Victorian Border through south-eastern Australia to northern Queensland. The squirrel glider lives in the dry sclerophyll forest and woodlands. In Queensland, however, they occupy a wetter eucalypt forest. The glider will make a den in the hollow tree and line it with leaves. Here it will sleep and usually lives in groups of one male, 2 females, and offspring. The squirrel glider eats mostly fruit and insects.

We do not deserve our place in the distribution of native endowments, any more than we deserve our initial starting place in society. That we deserve the superior character that enables us to make the effort to cultivate our abilities is also problematic; for such character depends in good part upon fortunate family and social circumstances in early life for which we can claim no credit. — John Rawls, A Theory of Justice (via philosophybits)
