FACT CHECK: Trump's Accusations About The Obama Administration And Swine Flu -

npr:

President Trump, widely criticized for his administration’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, tried to shift blame Friday to his predecessor’s handling of a health crisis 11 years ago.

In a series of tweets, Trump accused former President Barack Obama of making unspecified changes that “complicated” the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention’s testing system.

Trump falsely charged the Obama administration’s response to the H1N1 swine flu outbreak as a “full scale disaster, with thousands dying, and nothing meaningful done to fix the testing problem, until now.”

How much longer until the utopic Solarpunk future where Capitalism is dead and we all live in ecologically sustainable high-tech forest cities? Asking for a friend.

Until we make those ecologically sustainable high-tech forest cities ourselves. It’s going to take a lot of us to do it though, so best to spread the word (and gather native tree seeds).

And, like, get started now. Then our “weirdo houses” will be the only thing functioning when everything falls apart!

The only reason why we don’t live in a solarpunk world right now is because no one has bothered to make it yet.

We’ll have to make it ourselves, and we’ll have to help each other make it. That’s why it is solarpunk

On this day, 13 March 1962, a US military memo was circulated outlining Operation Northwoods: plans to initiate a wave of false flag terrorist attacks in order to justify military intervention in Cuba.
Declassified documents describe the proposed plan: “We could develop a Cuban Communist terror campaign in the Miami area, in other Florida cities and even in Washington… The terror campaign could be pointed at Cubans refugees seeking haven in the United States. We could sink a boatload of Cubans en route to Florida (real or simulated.) We could foster attempts on lives of Cuban refugees in the United States… Exploding a few plastic bombs in carefully chosen spots.”
President John F Kennedy declined to implement the plan and removed its author, General Lemnitzer, as Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, causing a rift with some military officials who perceived him as being soft on Cuba.
This was despite the fact that Kennedy had authorised a failed invasion of Cuba at the Bay of Pigs as well as Operation Mongoose – another covert plan to destabilise the Cuban government which included numerous terrorist attacks on Cuban soil.
