for some reason i definitely thought this was going to be one of those fuckin… infinite chocolate things. or like, some really weird trick involved. literally it’s just “put the tomatoes in some dirt and they grow into MORE TOMATOES 😱” which like… yea… that IS how plants work but i don’t know if it’s a life hack

While walking the dog yesterday, we found the tracks of a pack of wolves that had passed across the edge of our property. (I live out in the highway in Alaska.) I took a picture of my hand next to a wolf track for comparison.

Now here’s a picture of my hand with one of our dog’s tracks:

And he’s not an especially small dog; he’s a 55-lb retriever mix.

And the dog’s tracks next to wolf tracks:

Wolves are huge.

dude, i’m tellin you, for real

Sometimes people ask if my klee kai is a wolf, like, seriously. And I’m always like oh no, ha ha he kind of looks like one, though, hunh? But inside I’m always like “uh, my dog weighs thirty pounds, wolves weigh more than me and my dog put together – if he was a wolf you wouldn’t be asking if he was a wolf, you’d be peeing your pants and demanding we leave”

like, a wolf is as tall when lying down as most dogs are standing.

here, see for yourself. Labs are a very dog-sized dog, wouldn’t you say? Check this out

(this is a wolf in Alaska that found an unfenced dog park and slowly over the course of months learned how to hang out and have fun with the dogs)

SO BIG THO - here, have some more examples

I love how wolves & humans - so disparately sized - looked at each other and said, ‘Huh. That looks friend-shaped.’

Crystal clear water in Venice was seen flowing for the first time due to a drastic decrease in pollution because of the Nationwide Coronavirus quarantine that was enacted in Italy.

Never in the last 60 years has water been seen so clear and beautiful.

… And from the chaos that seems to be happening, there flowed beauty.

I just happened to see the explanation for this on Twitter, and it’s actually the same level of water purity it’s been.

The social distancing wouldn’t reduce the amount of pollution in the water, humans still live in Venice. The difference now is that there aren’t as many gondolas and boats floating around and it’s causing less dirt to be kicked up. Hence the clearer water and hence why you can see the fish that were already thriving there.

As for the swans and birds returning to the waters, that’s just because of the reduced human activity. Once again, has nothing to do with pollution.

Y’all need to stop pushing this vaguely eugenicist stuff. This idea that all humans are a blight on the planet, and even our absence for a few short weeks is enough to reset the ecosystem.

Human beings are dying and suffering right now, and people want to focus on how much this is helping the environment and I?????

Actually looking at op’s corona tag is fucking scary lmao. The normalization of ecofascism in leftist spaces is reaching all time highs as we get deeper into social crises.
