Um… 😐… what?

Looks like after a doctor said that bleach, isopropyl alcohol, and UV light could kill the virus, he pondered whether that could somehow be used inside the body as a treatment. He then followed up saying to consult a doctor but, of course, nobody seems to care about that part.

nobody cares about that because any competent person with a 3rd-grade education wouldn’t even think to ask if you can inject disinfectant into your body

I know. How could anyone ever think that injecting a poison into your body could cure you. Guess things like chemotherapy don’t exist.

go ahead, inject bleach into your body dude

Naw. I think I will do what he said and consult a doctor. The fact that you don’t seem to understand that part of it is honestly a bit strange.

ask your doctor if you should inject bleach into your body and they will laugh at you

The “Great Green Wall” Didn’t Stop Desertification, but it Evolved Into Something That Might -

hope-for-the-planet:

Originally, the plan was to build a “4,000-mile-long wall of trees” that would stop the “spread” of the Sahara desert.

This plan proved to be impractical for a number of reasons, but the process of failing to create a “great green wall” led to the discovery of a far more practical method of preventing desertification.

“Slowly, the idea of a Great Green Wall has changed into a program centered around indigenous land use techniques…the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organization now refer to it as ‘Africa’s flagship initiative to combat land degradation, desertification, and drought’“

And the new plan appears to be working! Areas that were nothing but dry, brown sand that blew away in the wind are now lush with trees and productive land.

Here is the same area between 1975 and 2003. It’s a little hard to see in black and white, but the change in groundcover and numbers of trees is staggering.

On this day, 5 March 1871, legendary revolutionary socialist of Polish-Jewish descent Rosa Luxemburg was born. Splitting from the Social Democrats (SPD) when they supported World War I, she co-founded the Spartacus League and was murdered by right-wing paramilitaries acting on behalf of the SPD in the wake of the failed Spartacist uprising of 1919.
We have produced this poster celebrating her life to help fund our work. Check it out here: https://ift.tt/2Tz4Gk4 https://ift.tt/2XFgws8

workingclasshistory:

On this day, 25 April 1974, Portugal’s fascist dictatorship was overthrown by a military coup, which was then followed by a working class uprising. Urban workers took over their factories and farm workers took over their farms in what would become known as ‘the Carnation revolution’, as few shots were fired and people adorned troops with carnations.
A factor which added to the unpopularity of the regime was the long-running colonial war against independence movements in then-Portuguese Congo, Angola and Mozambique. After the revolution these former colonies all soon achieved independence.
Today we are very happy to be able to make available in our online store this great book about the uprising: https://shop.workingclasshistory.com/collections/books/products/portugal-the-impossible-revolution-phil-mailer https://www.facebook.com/workingclasshistory/photos/a.296224173896073/1409723442546135/?type=3
