It’s suddenly clear to me that I have been living my life wrong

Protesting going to the beach by…. going to the beach.

Also, itʻs 90 fucking degrees out. Whoʻs gonna come rescue him when he gets heatstroke in that getup?

Fucking Florida. Even when people try to get it right, they still get it wrong.

Pretty sure no one is going to try to get close to them. And presumably they know their own level of heat tolerance; I doubt that they’re going to be laying out in the sun for an hour.

workingclasshistory:

On this day, 6 May 1933, Nazis raided the Institute of Sex Research in Berlin. Run by Magnus Hirschfeld, the Institute was a pioneering organisation which supported gay and transgender rights, and equality for women.
Hirschfeld coined the term “transsexualism”, the Institute employed numerous transgender workers and it had begun offering the first modern gender affirmation surgery.
A few days after the raid, the Institute’s huge library was burned in the streets while Joseph Goebbels delivered a speech. The Nazis then stepped up persecution of LGBT people, mass arresting gay men and trans women in particular and sending thousands to concentration, some of whom were forced to serve out their sentences by Allied authorities after “liberation”.
