Not to sound insane but I am genuinely so obsessed with swamps in the south. I just saw a picture of the Great Dismal Swamp. There are no words.
I feel like this isn’t real like sharing these images with y’all I feel like somebody’s gonna pop into my inbox and tell me these are Photoshopped or from a video game or something and I’m just a fucking idiot. Can you believe this. Seriously can you believe shit like this exists or maybe doesn’t because I am still struggling to comprehend the legitimacy of these images CAN YOU BELIEVE?
Fun fact: from the 17th-19th century, there existed scattered communities of a few thousand runaway slaves, Native Americans, and criminals on the lam who sought refuge in the Great Dismal Swamp because the terrain was way too tough to navigate for cops, slave catchers, etc.
There is a whole bunch of billionaires that are throwing fits at the prospect of not having record breaking profits this year, and they are throwing millions of dollars into dangerous schemes to convince the people of the US of a fantasy that is terrifying and horrifying.
And then they say it’s WHO that is falsifying numbers for making it look worse.
With regressives, fascists, and authoritarians it is always projection. Projection is the most reliable tool they have for deflecting attention for their wrong doing.
