“Adult Cabaret” includes “male or female impersonators,” and makes it illegal in public or any location children might be present. It’s a misdemeanor the first offense, and a FELONY for any subsequent offenses. Trans people are about to become illegal in Tennessee, and I haven’t heard fucking shit from any cis people.
Human nature shudders, and turns pale at its presence, and flies from it as from a den of lions, a nest of scorpions, or an army of rattlesnakes. The very soul sickens, and the mind revolts at the thought of slavery, and the true man welcomes instant death in preference to being reduced to its degradation and ruin.

Disney still has over half a year to fuck with copyright law (again). Don’t count your mice before they nut.
Also: Only the Steamboat Willie version of the character will be in public domain. The later Mickey artwork will not. (There were 4 Mickey cartoons in 1928: Plane Crazy, Gallopin’ Gaucho, Steamboat Willie, The Barn Dance. They’ll all enter the public domain.)
And Disney still has trademark rights. So any art, books, etc. done with the character will need to clearly state “not authorized by Disney” to make it clear you’re not trying to draw on their trademark.
But House on Pooh Corner joins it them in the public domain, so bring on the Steamboat Willie/Tigger slash comics. Or coloring books. Make a kickstarter and sell them.
Also entering public domain:
Lord Peter Wimsey & the first set of stories about him
John Brown’s Body (poem)
All Quiet on the Western Front
Lady Chatterley’s Lover
Charlie Chaplin movie The Circus
12 Laurell & Hardy shorts, including “From Soup to Nuts”
