On this day, 10 December 1984, Lesbian and Gays Support the Miners put on a benefit show at Camden’s Electric Ballroom featuring Bronski Beat to support coal miners who had been on strike for several months against mass pit closures. The gig raised over £5000 for strikers in south Wales. LGSM came to prominence recently after being the subject of the excellent 2014 film, Pride.
