I think one of the things that people get bogged down in here is hypocrisy. “Tucker is in FAVOR of the Right to Bear Arms, how can he be opposed to trans people exercising that right?” is not a useful question. It’s not even hypocrisy, because you’re missing the important point.
Tucker doesn’t believe trans people should have rights. Frankly, he doesn’t think anyone who is not a white, straight, cis, Christian Conservative should have rights. This will cut through a lot of the noise. “How can he be pro-free speech but get mad about trans people saying X?” because he doesn’t want us to have the right to free speech. Or the right to privacy. Or any other rights.
Rights, in the conservative worldview, are exclusively for people exactly like them, and everything else is just a smokescreen to avoid having to state that opinion out loud.
And that’s exactly WHY queer people need to be armed. They’re never gonna accept us, we live or they do, and trust me they’re armed.
Voting alone isn’t going to help. Protests that aren’t significant and disruptive isn’t going to help. Leaving fascists unafraid for their wellbeing isn’t going to help.
