The DNC’s calculus here is if they hit the “Hate Russia” button enough times they’ll be able to rally voters for midterms, the alternative would be to force all the subsidized oil companies to stop price gouging but there is zero interest from either party in doing that.
They could also take this opportunity to, you know, try to make a massive generational defining investment in public transportation or something else that an actually serious government would do.
