I feel her exasperation. I think we’re all collectively exhausted by bible thumpers trying to dictate policy, despite the enormous and apparent repercussions of said policy.
I remember seeing a lesbian separatist group on some afternoon chat show back in the 80s. A guy in the audience stood up and said, “The bible says…” and one of the women ahem cut him right off with, “We don’t believe the stories that the little boys tell.” It was gorgeous.
