This is also an extremely important development in terms of the relationship between neoliberalism and queerness. The supposedly “tolerant” Dem Party and other centrist neoliberals are outright stating their “acceptance” of LGBTQ people is entirely dependent on our respect for and submission to the bourgeoisie state and law enforcement as the legitimacy of both break down in the face of heightened contradictions of capitalism. It’s a breach in the status quo that has persisted for almost 2-3 decades that can and should be filled by the same revolutionary socialist organizing that formed the basis of our community and rights in the first place.

This one isn’t a hotbutton issue for Republicans vs Democrats so dont assume that just because you live in a blue state that your reps will definitely vote for it. Make the call.

Boost the heck out of this. It is bipartisan legislation, Sponsored by Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and co-sponsored by Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH). The bill number is S. 4102 and I don’t think it has a House equivalent yet. If you tell your reps to vote for S. 4102 sponsored by Sen. Brown and co-sponsored by Sen.
