This is the one Godzilla film, at least in the New York City region, that got next-to-no airplay on any TV station. And for the longest time this was the only version of the film that was available in the US.

I can confirm this. I still remember coming across “Godzilla Raids Again” in Blockbuster and being surprised because I’d rented every Godzilla movie in the store previously and watched all the marathons on TNT and never came across this one (and it certainly didn’t look new!) Add to that the fact that the titles and some of the dubbing indicated that this was a movie about “Gigantis” and that they frequently put Anguirus’ roar in Godzilla’s mouth and I walked away wondering if somebody had snuck a bootleg into Blockbuster.
