HORROR HOTEL (aka EATEN ALIVE aka DEATH TRAP aka LEGEND OF THE BAYOU aka STARLIGHT SLAUGHTER) 1976
dir. Tobe Hooper starring Neville Brand, Robert Englund, Mel Ferrer, Carolyn Jones, Marilyn Burns, William Finley & Stuart Whitman.
This film was released & re-released so many times under so many generic names. There were at least 3 more horror films called Death Trap. Same with Eaten Alive. I’ve seen at least 2 more off the top of my head called Horror Hotel. It’s a shame, because it’s a great film more in tone with the old EC comics than the UK Tales From The Crypt & Vault of Horror, right down to the gruesome, over-the-top premise. The lighting, set design & claustrophobic cinematography are 100% horror-comic inspired. The color saturation alone demands a 4k Blu Ray viewing! Treat yourself & check it out if you get the chance.

“To recommend thrift to the poor is both grotesque and insulting. It is like advising a man who is starving to eat less.”
― Oscar Wilde
Looks like they’re doing both at once now!
