The Kochs’ opposition to transit spending stems from their longstanding free-market, libertarian philosophy. It also dovetails with their financial interests, which benefit from automobiles and highways.
I’m willing to bet it’s more about profit than any loyalty to an ideological principle.
Y’all know that the Koch brothers and the founder of Uber fund a lot of this anti-regulation anti-public transit stuff together, yeah? And that the Koch fortune comes from oil and gas, which, surprise surprise, public transit uses less of?
