In Search of Darkness is posited to be the definitive ‘80s horror documentary. Based on everything I’ve seen so far, it seems that director David Weiner (former editor of Famous Monsters of Filmland) is ensuring the film will live up to that promise.

It includes interviews with over 40 genre luminaries, including filmmakers John Carpenter, Joe Dante, Greg Nicotero, Sean S. Cunningham, Tom Holland, Stuart Gordon, Mick Garris, Don Mancini, Brian Yuzna, Lloyd Kaufman, and the late Larry Cohen in his final extended interview.

Also featured are such horror icons as Kane Hodder, Cassandra Peterson, Heather Langenkamp, Bill Moseley, Jeffrey Combs, Barbara Crampton, Keith David, Doug Bradley, Nick Castle, Caroline Williams, Alex Winter, Lori Cardille, Kelli Maroney, Katie Featherston, Joe Bob Briggs, and more.

In Search of Darkness is in the final days of its crowdfunding campaign. While it has already smashed its goal, this is the only way to be among the first to see the film when it’s released exclusively for backers in July.

You have until Sunday, March 31 to secure your copy of the documentary on digital ($26), DVD with soundtrack download ($46), or Blu-ray ($46). Other perks include shirts, posters, and producer credits.

Martin Walker and Clayton Benge designed the teaser poster above, and Graham Humphreys tackled the gorgeous artwork below. You can also watch the trailer and read the extended synopsis.

The Washington Post reported that almost 1.3 million people in Puerto Rico are facing a new crisis after Congress failed to reauthorize additional food stamps that they had been receiving since Hurricane Maria.

The Post also reported that Trump has privately complained about continuing government aid to Puerto Rico, asking top advisers how he can limit federal support.

But if you watched CBS, ABC, and NBC nightly and morning news programs, you wouldn’t have heard about it.

New! Our latest podcast episode is out now, about the workers at the Lusty Lady strip club in San Francisco who in 1997 were the first women who managed to unionise a strip joint in the United States, and who later took it over and ran it as a workers’ co-operative. Right now it’s available exclusively for listening for our patreon supporters here: https://ift.tt/2E7hAdA
It will be up for everyone else in a few weeks. It is one of the new wave of episodes we are spending much more time on. We have been working on this for months, and are really pleased with how it turned out. So we hope you enjoy it as well. https://ift.tt/2TN2e9T
