Quite. Feathers are very likely to be a familial trait of all Coelurosaurs. For any laymans, Coleurosaurs are a family of dinosaurs that include many famous predatory dinosaurs from pop culture.
In essence because the base of this family tree way back in the Jurassic period (about 100 million years before Tyrannosaurus rex by the way) had feathers as a means of display, camouflage, and insulation, all it’s descendants had them too. And once a trait is gained, it is extremely hard to lose. Tyrannosaurus rex did live in a hot climate and could insulate itself from sheer mass, so it’s feathers were likely reduced but still there. Think “feathered” in a similar way to how an elephant is “hairy”. The cape or mane is very possible.
