Hospitals of the northern states are filling up with people (especially children and seniors) claiming they can’t breathe properly. ALREADY ENDANGERED ANIMALS ARE DYING. THIS IS SERIOUS.
Germany and Norway, huge donators to the Amazon cause will stop sending money because they don’t see results (that can also be credited to our president, who has been tweeting angrily ever since - not because he cares about the environment, btw). That money gives this guy and his team equipment to save little guys like these:

It’s not in an employment-at-will state. You can be fired at any time for any reason as long as it can’t be prooven to be because of discrimination against a federally protected status, or some bullshit wording like that.
It most definitely is illegal in at will states. The prohibition falls under ‘retaliation’ which covers everything from being fired for refusing to go on a date with your boss, to being fired for wanting to unionize.
It’s very explicitly illegal in the US at the federal level (and therefore in all 50 states) to fire someone for ANYTHING related to an attempt to join or start a union. Seriously. It’s also illegal to explicitly tell your employees not to unionize, and to even threaten retaliation. Which means every single employee of that company should be talking to that lawyer right now to sue their boss for every last penny he owns. Or at least get him super-mega-awful fined.

The man who is recruiting in Winnipeg for a neo-Nazi paramilitary group holds a leadership position in the Canadian Army Reserve and is a trained explosives expert.
The Free Press has identified Master Cpl. Patrik Mathews, 26, as the man responsible for the neo-Nazi propaganda posters that have been posted throughout the city in recent weeks.
The posters were part of a recruitment drive for The Base, a white supremacist network that’s active on three continents. Experts on hate groups say The Base represents the most radical, violent fringes of the extremist right.
Mathews is a trained combat engineer, which makes him an explosives expert, and is an active member of the army reserve. Combat engineers are responsible for conducting a number of construction and demolition tasks under battle conditions.
As a master corporal, he is considered to be in a leadership position and oversees and instructs privates who work under him.
Holy shit, if he’s a reserve army combat engineer in Winnipeg, then my brother-in-law, who is 1) the child of Chinese immigrants and 2) a trans man, literally serves in his unit. This is the Army’s response:
“While we cannot discuss any specific cases or investigations, we can say that we take these matters seriously. Hateful conduct, be it through words or actions, is completely incompatible with (Canadian Armed Forces) values and culture,” a military spokeswoman said in a written statement.
“Any form of hateful conduct erodes cohesion and esprit de corps, and diminishes our authority as a force for good in Canadian society and around the world. We will not tolerate it in any form.”
