Due to an underwater volcanic eruption, a massive raft of pumice (around the size of Manhattan) is currently floating in the middle of the ocean. It’s expected to read Australia in the next 7-10 months.
This could be good news for the Great Barrier Reef, because events like this can spread sea life from one place to another. Porous stones like pumice can carry crabs, microorganisms, and even young coral, which could re-seed parts of the reef and introduce new genetics.
Also check out this really eerie video of a boat sailing through the pumice patch:
After the 2010 earthquake, many Haitians hoped that the devastation would inspire positive change. Instead, the influx of foreign aid and global investment in Haiti opened the door for the corruption that has tainted Haiti’s last two leaders.
As a matter of fact, if your employer fires you for anything relating to forming a union, that’s retalition, and it’s illegal under federal law. If this happens to you, vontact the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Fuck off with that bullshit, the American sanctions have nothing to do with the ongoing food shortages, which began at least 4 years before those were even considered.
We don’t have food because the regime long ago monopolized food production in Venezuela, destroying it all, and then forcing us to heavily rely on imports to survive, which were never affordable to the common Venezuelan because of the hyperinflation.
It’s amazing how idiots from both sides of the political spectrum parrot the regime’s bullshit.
